Built for Egypt

Odoo that passes the Tax Authority, pays your staff and talks to local providers

A generic Odoo setup is not enough for an Egyptian company. These are the local pieces we configure and build as part of every project.

ETA e-invoicing (B2B)

Every VAT-registered company in Egypt has been required to issue e-invoices through the Egyptian Tax Authority since 2023, and input VAT cannot be deducted on paper invoices. Each invoice is validated by the ETA in real time.

Odoo ships an official Egyptian e-invoicing module, available from Odoo 15 onward. We set it up end to end and test it on the ETA pre-production environment before you go live.

  • ERP registration on the ETA portal and API credentials
  • Signing with a USB token (e.g. Egypt Trust) or HSM
  • EGS or GS1 item codes on every product, mapped to GPC classifications
  • Branch IDs, activity codes and ETA tax types (VAT, table tax, withholding, stamp)
  • Units of measure mapped to ETA codes

ETA e-receipts (POS / B2C)

E-receipts are being rolled out in phases: a business becomes obliged when it is named in an ETA decision, not by turnover. Several new groups of taxpayers were added during 2025.

Odoo 20, released September 2026, adds a native Egypt e-receipt module for Point of Sale: receipts are submitted to the ETA and print with the QR code once accepted. On older versions this needs a custom connector — which we build.

  • Check whether your company is named, using the ETA inquiry service
  • Each receipt carries a unique ID and QR code
  • Receipts issued offline must be submitted within 24 hours
  • The buyer's national ID is required for receipts of EGP 150,000 and above

VAT and withholding

We configure the Egyptian chart of accounts and taxes so reports come out ready for your accountant's monthly VAT return.

  • VAT at 14% standard, with reduced, zero-rated and exempt cases
  • Table (schedule) tax on listed goods
  • Withholding on local payments: 1% supplies and contracting, 3% services, 5% commissions
  • Odoo 20 updates the Egyptian VAT return and withholding reports for ETA compliance

Egyptian payroll

Odoo has official Egypt payroll rules (Enterprise). We configure them to your contracts, allowances and deductions, and check the first runs against your current payroll.

  • Income tax under Law 7/2024 brackets, with the EGP 20,000 personal exemption
  • Social insurance under Law 148/2019: 11% employee, 18.75% employer, within the 2026 insurable wage limits
  • Overtime, allowances, loans and end-of-year tax adjustments
  • Payslips and attendance in Arabic and English

Local payment gateways

Online payments from your Odoo website, portal or invoices, settled into the right bank journal.

  • Paymob — built into Odoo 19 and 20; official app for earlier versions; valU available through Paymob
  • Kashier — official Odoo plugin from the provider
  • Fawry — no official Odoo connector; we build it over Fawry's API
  • InstaPay and bank transfers — handled as payment methods with reconciliation

Local shipping carriers

Most Egyptian carriers do not have a maintained connector for current Odoo versions. We build or adapt one so delivery orders create shipments, labels and tracking automatically.

  • Bosta, Aramex, Mylerz, J&T Express, R2S and others with an API
  • Cash-on-delivery amounts reconciled against carrier settlements
  • Tracking status visible on the delivery order
